I stopped crying after these messages. I felt loved for who I am, not what I can do. Perhaps that is at the core of every human. I'm free to do whatever the next right thing is. May God lead my steps.

A few weeks ago, a mudslide devastated a region of Nepal. It was far from our sewing center in Kathmandu. However, one of our seamstresses is from there. She went back to help, and shared this with us.

We all have a front row seat to watch many gifts unfold. I hope you can reflect on those in your life also because of the joy that gratitude brings. We're all walking in something we once prayed for. 

When I look at our Instagram page and our Facebook Group, our models are known. Those who are active followers know the names of the women. Our brand image is set apart from the norms of the fashion world.

I can't go to the office daily like before, so manuals will be a must. I also have someone who is going to help big time by being a supervisor. This means interns can still come to the loft even on the days I don't. 

The Restore Room is the holistic branch of Elegantees that we want to get better at. It's all about better preparing and placing survivors into dignified jobs in order to break the cycle of poverty. Here's our action steps to build it.

A year ago, I was desiring this. My heart was/is for the younger generation in the fashion industry in New York City. Every day last Spring, I was thinking about how I'd love to train and mentor them. Now, we finished strong!

We are booking our flights to Nepal very soon! Yes, it's really happening! Yesterday we connected over a video call with Binita. She was saying how much it means to the seamstresses when someone from Elegantees visits them.

Nepal is bordered by the powerhouses of China and India, but sourcing in Nepal is very hard. Local Nepalese people even agree with me. So why Nepal? The mission. There are 50 million people considered to be in modern day slavery worldwide.

The other night, my dream was much more intense. The ceiling didn't just crack a lot, it also collapsed and I watched it in slow motion. When I woke up, I immediately thought of Rana Plaza. It took 1,138 lives in Bangladesh in 2013. The slow but fast death of a building collapse.
