WHEN THINGS BLOOM

My favorite plant in my apartment. I took this on Sunday.

On Sunday I noticed that my plant spouted something new on the edge of the pot. What a surprise it was to me!

Plants are a hobby I've gotten into this year. It's become a tangible example to me of what is often happening with Elegantees as well. A seed is planted into good soil, you water it, but you mostly have to wait for the bloom.
Now that my plant multiplied, it outgrew its home, so I got a bigger pot. I've discovered that this particular plant species has an underground network of stems so more plants will grow together, especially as they mature and multiply. That means as I nurture my plant in good soil, it will multiply.

A DESIRE FULFILLED

Some time ago, I shared a desire to have an office space here in New York City. A space to create, collaborate, and mentor interns to grow in confidence and see Elegantees grow.
On Monday, I called a phone number I've been holding onto. The contact gave me details two studio lofts. The first was in my budget but it was only 200 square feet and the lighting wasn't sufficient for photo shoots. The second loft was so big, beautiful and bright. I immediately felt it's not reasonable. It was too spacious and the price was a lot. This was the only option on the market though, so I prayed about it.

I realized that God doesn't have small things in mind for Elegantees. We need a bigger pot to spread out and have room to bloom into the next chapter.

That night, I started to ask if you'd help cover the rent. Each yes made me realize God is really behind all this. I plugged in your gifts and commitments into a spreadsheet. The financial need continued to go down, but down enough? Then a chat with an analytics friend helped me sort through feelings and facts.
I have peace and direction to take this step of faith. We're going to do this!

STILL WANT TO DONATE?

Over half of the rent for the 12 months is already covered by gifts, and I'm trusting God will provide the rest. It might be through an increase in sales, but it might also be through you. If you're led to give, know that this space is a dream I've waited for, and will not take it for granted.

Your gift is likely to have a ripple effect. Somewhere along the way in these next 12 months, the talents of our team will flourish, and multiply our demand. We'll have to hire more ladies in Nepal then!

With Hope,

Katie
