The more I ask God for help, the more things are provided for Elegantees. Our dresses sale is one thing because we were about to empty our cash reserves. The latest gift though has been seeing more capable women offering to volunteer in various capacities.
These ladies are doing things that I've been meaning to get to for years. I'm particularly in awe of how others can do some things with such excellence. Sometimes I'll spend a lot of time to train associates, but not as of late. We have the best of the best!
One example is found in our unofficial UX Designer (fancy title for someone who improves the way the website is presented the overall experience). Well, she knocked my socks off with her savvy plans, and I hope yours will too as the site gets upgrades.
Many other things in the works that I'll share later! Overall though, I can't help but raise my hands and rejoice over these provisions.
TARIFFS?
Lots of global concern around the reciprocal tariffs. Will it affect us? Nepal has been duty free to the USA as long as we've been around, but the recent update is that all countries will be subject to tariffs starting tomorrow. It's too early to know how this will impact us. To prepare in case of that, our team is brainstorming on how we could minimize it if goes into effect.
I believe our biggest threat isn't in the tariffs though. It's more about what we're selling and how.
Off the top of my head, there are things that could make us more profitable even if we have to start paying tariffs. One, always strive to design clothes that customers actually want. Two, have the strongest customer service possible. Third, prioritize art in our photography that gives the clothes justice.
I'm most enjoying being hands on with the artistic part of brand identity. Like a good movie, you need more than a strong plot to “wow” an audience. It has to be visually captivating too. If you were born in the 1900s, you'll remember flipping the pages of fashion magazines, and the imagination would transport to a whimsical location with beautiful clothes. Our goal is to recreate the fashion magazine, but in a digital form on social media and our website. The prettier the backdrops, lighting, and color composition, the stronger the emotion that is felt. The emotions inspire purchases.
I'm asking God to help with everything we do. I love that there is no detail too small for this request.
