TWO FISH, FIVE LOAVES

The view at sunset from the windows at our office
Last week I shared about the team expansion that is happening at the end of January. We'll have 16 interns joining this Spring semester. So much collaboration and delegation ahead. I am hoping our company will increase in demand with all of it. I'll share what this could mean for our ministry in Nepal.
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
Often when the sun starts to set at 4:30 pm, I stand at our windows and stare at the Manhattan skyline from our Brooklyn office loft. With the sunset, it's a view that never grows old on me. I feel incredibly blessed for this space and the privilege to live out my dream.
It's not too good to be true because I know God is in all of this. I keep seeking wisdom to be able to lead our team for the best of the company, not just to make a good experience for the interns. This dream of mine to lead a team in a NYC fashion office can be sustained with some growth and favor.
FOR A BIGGER CAUSE
The interns will be adding 2,000 hours of productivity into the Spring semester. With such a boost, my hope is that we will not stay a small business!
More demand will allow us to build on my other big dream. You know, the one I've had even before I dreamed about working in an office with a team. We're not just placing orders with factories overseas that we aren't connected to. We know our seamstresses by name and their stories are real.
Fighting human trafficking has many layers to it, and our calling is in training and job creation. Our nonprofit will focus on training, and our sales will allow for job creation.
THE RESTORE ROOM
In Nepal, we haven't been prioritizing training for survivors in the past few years. That is about to change. In the new year, we'll meet with other organizations, visit safe homes, connect with missionaries, and see what doors open up.
Our desire is to open a Restore Room. It will be an intimate and peaceful place where survivors can heal and receive training in various job skills like sewing garments. If anyone happens to love sewing, we'll offer them a job at our sewing center. This will provide a full holistic approach to helping survivors overcome and thrive without rushing the process.
It seems like the timing of starting with our team in New York to increase our sales first, and then training survivors will line up well. Trusting our sales will increase, and that will allow us to offer jobs to new women with assurance.
TWO FISH, FIVE LOAVES
I've been personally inspired lately by a few successful people who started with a small number of resources. The account of Jesus feeding 5,000 from two fish and five loaves of bread was something that kept them believing. Multiplication is possible with faith. I'm believing in that as well.
I am learning lately to not stick to logic only when I reach for goals. I shared a business goal with a friend of mine, and she told me that an even higher number. I couldn't imagine it without her saying so. I'm thankful for her wisdom to help me see beyond the safe and certain.
With faith and perseverance, a multitude can be fed.
In Faith,
Katie
