THE REASON WE DO THIS

This week was set aside for an overdue accounting update. I've had my eyeballs on the books this week, forcing me to reminisce on a year. On paper, any business analyst would look at what I'm looking at and express concern. That bogged me down.

A friend reminded me that we have always been held together through miraculous interventions. She is right. I am choosing to not look at the numbers from a business mindset, but one of faith. All our best success stories over these past 14 years have been those where I couldn't do it by my own talents or hard work alone. 

Our sewing center today in Nepal is a most recent example of this. I sincerely thought that two years ago, we were going to need to close our doors.  But, it wasn't the end of the story. God broke down the walls of the old, and then planted something new in ways that only He could have!

Do you know the women who sign the hang tags on our clothing? Even when things feel hard, their smiles bring joy to every one of us.

They are the reason all this makes sense and continues to prosper. When I refer to the word 'prosper', it's not in a Fortune 500 type of way. It's prospering in the places that the human ability cannot on its own. It's been through miracles and love that knows no limits.  The women who make our clothes are so fiercely loved. The women who stand with me in this and volunteer to model, serve, and share about our website are not here because of me, but the calling on their hearts too.

I know many of us are crying out for the 27 million people who are currently victims of human trafficking. I am too. Knowing this is why we are here gives a higher purpose behind the love of art, fashion, and creating.  It's about people who are worthy of freedom and love.

So we keep going with confidence and faith. Greater things are yet to come!
