THE DESIRE FOR 2025
I don't have a word of the year for 2025 yet, but I'm ending this year with less focus on business multiplication. There is a lot more desire to expand on our holistic work in Nepal.
The preorder model may help overlap this, as I'm thinking through the logistics in how they are made. Our first preorder with the cardigans was a massive success. I thought it might be because it's an easy gift for Christmas, and it would arrive before Christmas. But then…the Horizon top!
This waffle knit top is going into sewing next week, and a lot of them have been ordered so far. Here's what we've been seeing and reading:
- The special price allows more people to support. This means more orders! A few shared with me that they haven't been able to buy in years, but this made it affordable. Love it!
- Customers don't mind waiting for it to be made, especially knowing the price is part of the trade off. When possible, we can also send photos of their item being made, reducing the distance between the maker and the wearer.
- The sewing team is encouraged. In the past 4 months, we've been needing about two-thirds of our usual quantity because demand has dropped. This hasn't changed how much they are paid, and nobody lost their job, but it's been slow. The boost means happy dances!
For this upcoming week, I look forward to praying for a word of the year for 2025. There will be one more Founder Friday update of this year, so stay tuned for me to reveal it to you!
