REBUILDING MOMENTUM

We sold out of a lot of Kim tees when they first launched. Preorders and restocks at the sewing center were in full production this past week.
NEPAL
October is the month of national holidays in Nepal. Families travel and gather in their villages. Between these breaks, the sisters get offered a lot of overtime because we get swamped. I tell myself every year that I will remember to plan ahead for October, but I forget. Everyone is doing well though!
Giving myself grace because of the 40 day long shipping fiasco. I feel like we're recovering from the exhaustion of the customs problem, and choosing to smile each day results in motivation.
NEW INTERNS
Back in August, when the lease was being signed for our office, I envisioned a dozen interns in our spacious loft. I believe we will get there because two of the fashion colleges here have accepted Elegantees as a company. The interest from students is strong.
We currently have four interns that are coming in weekly. As for these four, I'm quite impressed and love getting to talk with them about everything. They've all shared things that have made them feel empowered. I love that we're quite different from most of the fashion industry. Sometimes I get behind on the tasks I need to do on my own. When I'm with the interns, the dedication to training usually means I go slower. I have a calling to mentor college students though, so the slower pace hasn't bothered me. The joy at the end of the day usually fuels me to turn into a ninja to get the other things done too.

This photo above was taken this morning as I dropped off some dresses, hugged our team, and got back on the subway to get to the office. They are doing their first shoot today by themselves. I'm so proud of them!
MULTIPLY
This was the word of the year for Elegantees in 2024. I believe we'll see more of it because of our interns. With more hands, we can have the marketing reach we hope for. So scheduling interviews with more students who applied for our internship is next on my to-do list ;-)
Still dreaming of the day we will expand our work in Nepal. There's a huge need for women to have a dignified job. Thank you for believing in it with me!
Optimistic, Katie
