OUR RUNWAY SHOW

When I was about to hang my sketches up to display at the fashion show venue

DURING NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!

I've basically been putting together a wedding. That's what showing during New York Fashion Week feels like. Invitations, guest lists, coordinating with models, trying on a bunch of dresses, visits with the venue, arranging the music, and thinking of the perfect things to say at the reception.

We even did an art exhibition to mirror the runway component, and that was only two weeks ago! That went awesome by the way, and I'll try to send a more proper update about it soon.

For now I'm laser focused on the big day!
I'm feeling the same way the day before my actual wedding in 2012. I was excited, but very much ready for it to be over! All the planning is intense.
Even though I've had a lot of help from outstanding student volunteers, and I've loved the majority of the projects, I'm going to need a week where I can actually clock out in the evenings again. That week is coming next week!
On the day of the show, I will be like a bride again. I will need to let go of all the details, when things go wrong to not try to fix them, and instead be immersed in the moment. I will be speaking twice while the models are changing their outfits. I'm compelled to share the very event that made me committed to the cause of fighting for victims of sex trafficking.
We'll also be celebrating our women in Nepal, along with women that work for like-minded brands that we're styling our looks with. These brands are Trades of Hope, Vida Collective, Purse & Clutch, and Sela Designs.
