FIRST COLLABORATIONS
At first, I wasn't inspired by this, but things are quickly changing.
THE HOLISTIC DESIRE
Our strength lately has been in stability at our sewing center, but job creation isn't the sole purpose of our mission. There's been a few areas on the holistic side that we desire to improve on, but how to do that? The first step would be travelling to Nepal. Someone that I know and trust is in a position to go, invested on our team already, and is willing to go. I am humbled and amazed.
AN EVENT
An anti-trafficking org in Texas reached out to host an event together. Their Director is an absolute joy as we're exchanging a few emails. Now they are confirmed to do a runway show inspired by ours from New York Fashion Week! I would love to share about Elegantees as a guest speaker, but my personal life isn't allowing for travel to there. One of our very first customers though is local and will speak on my behalf! I'm in awe of how this transpired.
MY FAVORITE ONE
My favorite collaboration has to do with my 11 year old daughter. Last night I found her with my laptop writing to her favorite YouTuber from my email address. With Gen Alpha slang, she proposed that she join us in New York City for a content shoot. I feel like printing her email and framing it because it was so adorable.
There's a handful of role models on the internet, and she plans to pitch to all of them. I am proud to witness her grit and maturity. One thing I know is if you don't give up, you will reap a harvest. Let's see what fruit she brings this year!
THIS FEEL FRESH
The approach to collaborating so far feels different than what I experienced (burnout) in the past. I'm also feeling incredibly loved and supported knowing I'm not fighting for this injustice alone.
