FINISHING FASHION WEEK

The final walk in New York City during NY Fashion Week !

We showed our collection during New York Fashion Week last weekend! This runway show was my favorite to date, and it grew me in new ways. One thing is I'm not going to shrink back as much with the direction for Elegantees.

I knew the most important thing from me would be the words I'd speak. Our story is the tapestry that is even more special than the designs, styling, and colors. The story of exploitation, rescue, redemption, and dignity is the arc that should always stand out most. It's more than fashion, it's about freedom.
On the show day, I successfully stayed away from backstage because I'm hands on. I would have jumped in too much, and then not have anything left for when I'd go to speak. Not all the outfits were exactly how I planned from our fitting, but the story of Elegantees stood out. Everything was a success.

EMBRACING SUPPORT

Before the first model stepped onto the runway, I was in awe to see all the people in the audience. I captured it in this brief video here

I shared my own story in how I could have been a victim of human trafficking when I was an 18 year old in Manhattan. I was not, but I could have been. This has been a root motivation for me behind everything in Elegantees.
When I introduced myself, the crowd roared. How uplifting to be honored at this unexpected moment! Truly, many people want to see our impact multiplied. I received it with gratitude. It's going to take a tribe to multiply.

MY ASSIGNMENT

I've compared my own journey to the story of Moses before. He was assigned to bring slaves into freedom for generations to come. Eventually he became bold, and nothing could stop him. While speaking with supporters last weekend, several made that same connection!

Some also encouraged me to walk in the authority that I've been given for this time and season of Elegantees. Last weekend, I was anointed with the spirit of boldness in Elegantees. The time to multiply is coming!
