A VISIT TO NEPAL

As we do this meaningful work to help women overcome, we know it's more than securing a safe and fair sewing job. It's about restoring hope in the makers too. For us to do a better job at that, we're working on obtaining a 501(c)3 status to open our resources to do so. Today I'd like to introduce you to someone who is helping with this.

Michele is the beautiful woman in this photo with me. Like me, she felt a burden for this cause as soon as she learned that such an evil existed. Her love for Elegantees was immediate too, when she placed her first order a year and a half ago. Then she found delight and community in sharing her outfits in our Facebook Group. 

I met Michele in person when she came to our show during New York Fashion Week. As we got to know each other more, I picked up that she has quite a gift for customer service, so I asked if she would volunteer to help in our inbox. She said yes! If you've done an exchange in the past 6 months, you've had the joy of chatting with her, I'm sure!

Michele has been doing more than ever expected, and today she's helping setup our nonprofit arm. In fact, she's even travelling to Nepal in 6 weeks! 

Michele is going to Nepal for special meetings to see what doors can be opened. Our hope is to learn more about what areas can be better supported, and confirmation of the steps that we need to take to build something to improve it. I'm also so excited for our sisters to meet her. Michele is kind and humble, and I know it'll be an encouraging visit for everyone.
