A FORCED WEEK OFF

A preview of our next collection
A week ago something happened in my personal life that needed my attention. I was not able to be what I normally can for Elegantees.
I FAILED
As the primary person who posts on our social media accounts, nothing has been posted. I skipped writing last Friday's update. A box of new designs sit at my apartment entrance, waiting to be reviewed. One of our photo shoots got rescheduled until later. I have a lot of emails to get to yet. In summary, I flunked at running a business this week. I've felt distanced from the brand I know and love, but not from my God who holds it all together. I recently shared my word of the year for Elegantees is collaborate, but the one for my personal life is prayer. This was a week of a lot of that.
NEXT LAUNCH
Getting our athleisure launch ready for next week! It was initially on the calendar to launch yesterday, but it should be next week sometime instead. I can't wait to unveil it because it has been in the works for over a year. We made this collection with our other partners in India, and our lead time from design to completion is slower. Definitely a labor of love. I'm thankful we made it though, and the collection will be here finally.
STAYING SURRENDERED
We're in our 15th year of business this year, and everything is still critically dependent on me, even though it's not at the same time. I wonder if anything were to happen to me, if the legacy of Elegantees could carry on. Could the women in Nepal continue to thrive?
Now that I have the chance to sit down and process this past week, it may be a good time to think through a succession plan of some sort. I sincerely hope I can be involved for decades to come, but we're at the stage where complete delegation should be the goal. Even if I continue to play a main role for a long time to come, maybe it can become one that the overall health of Elegantees is not dependent on me. I'll continue to play catchup tomorrow, but it should be lovely since it's so cold outside. I hope you have a restful weekend, and we'll see you again for the next collection launch!
